Analytics, spoken.
Helping a large municipal corporation’s commissioners and recovery teams question property-tax data in plain language, from city totals down to one property.
- Industry: Municipal Corporation
- Service line: Conversational Analytics, Context Engineering
- Solution: PTX Brain
- Engagement: Read-only access to the existing tax database
Results at a glance
- 184 database tables behind a single conversational interface
- 11 analytical capabilities, from Pareto views to anomaly checks
- 4 drill-down levels: city, zone, ward, property
Challenge
The commissioner asked in the meeting. The answer used to arrive days later.
Our client, a large municipal corporation, held extensive property-tax data, yet senior officials depended on reports, spreadsheets and database specialists for even simple revenue questions. A question asked in a review meeting was answered days later, once someone had written and run the right query.
- A four-step relay. Official asks, a report is requested, a specialist queries, an answer comes back days later.
- Dashboards that cannot follow up. Predefined metrics answered the questions they expected, not the one the meeting asked next.
- Hundreds of tables. Nobody should need to navigate a schema of roughly 184 tables to ask who owes the most.
Solution
We built PTX Brain as a conversational and analytical layer over the existing property-tax system, connected through read-only access.
Illustrative exchange: “Which wards have the highest recoverable amount?” → “Five wards account for 61% of outstanding demand. Ward 4 ₹14.2Cr, Ward 11 ₹11.8Cr, Ward 7 ₹9.6Cr.” → “Show me the top defaulter in Ward 4.”
- Schema, understood. Secure integration and analysis of roughly 184 tables, with payment and collection sources consolidated into one analytical layer.
- Questions in plain language. A natural-language query layer, grounded by context engineering so each question resolves against the real tables, not a plausible guess.
- City to property in one thread. Ward, zone and category drill-down, arrears and Pareto analysis, executive dashboards, APIs and role-based access.
Impact
Property-tax reviews became more focused because a question raised in the room could be answered in the room.
- Fewer report requests. Dependence on manually generated reports dropped and revenue questions were investigated far more quickly.
- City metrics, traced to one property. A city-wide total could be followed down to the property responsible for a meaningful share of it, in the same session.
- One layer, many departments. The same approach extends to finance, grievances, licensing, water billing and public works.

Questions
What is PTX Brain?
PTX Brain is a conversational analytics layer that lets municipal officials ask property-tax questions in plain language and get structured answers from the existing tax database.
How does it stay accurate across 184 tables?
Context engineering grounds each natural-language question in the real schema, so answers resolve against actual tables rather than plausible guesses.
Is the existing tax system changed?
No. PTX Brain connects through read-only access and adds role-based views on top.
Conversational analytics makes municipal data accessible to non-technical decision-makers, without a query language to learn or a specialist to wait for.
